How to Tie a Blanket Scarf

Fall is finally here! And while California is still blazing hot, we’re excited about the upcoming cooler weather because we’ll get to wear our boots and scarves once again.

Blanket scarves can be tricky to work with because they’re usually very bulky and thick. But we’ve broken it down to just 6 easy steps!

  1. Unfold your scarf all the way and hold it out.

2. Bring the opposite corners together and fold. Your scarf should now be in a triangle.

3. Place the scarf in front of you with the shortest side of the triangle now being in the front.

4. Wrap the two longest sides around each other behind your neck. Let the sides now hang in front of you.

5. Now, tie the longest sides in a knot underneath the front of your scarf. The front will hide the knot so don’t worry about how the knot looks.

6. And there you have it! Your blanket scarf is now tied to perfection! Pair it with your favorite outfit, grab a pumpkin spice latte and you’re ready for Fall!

4 Ways to Style Kimonos

During hot weather, it can be easy to step into a routine of throwing on a simple tshirt and shorts. It can be difficult to come up with new outfits or ways to liven up your summer wardrobe.

That’s where kimonos come in! They come in expressive prints and can range in lengths. Kimonos are the perfect way to add some flair to your everyday outfit, not to mention they look great flowing in the wind while you’re walking. Kimonos are a timeless and ageless look that suit all body types.

We’ve showcased some different ways to style a kimono. Pick your favorite or give them all a try!

*Our locations carry other styles and prints not on our website.

Denim Floral Kimono – Throw a kimono over a pair of cutoff shorts and a tank. It’s a comfortable way to look cute while taking a walk at the beach or running errands.

Fringe Trim Printed Kimono – Grabbing some lunch with the girls? Adding a flowy kimono to a pair of cuffed jeans and a tank will look effortless and stylish! Dress it up with a pair of your favorite chunky heels!

Burgundy Floral Chiffon Kimono – If you want to dress-down your favorite little black dress, try adding a printed kimono and some jewelry. Kimono’s are also great because they’re lightweight and easy to pack away in your bag for when you’re transitioning from afternoon to night.

Navy Medallion Pool Kimono – For the ultimate boho-babe look, pair our longer kimonos with a maxi dress or maxi skirt! They’re great for backyard parties or just a casual day with friends.

Dip the filling into the chocolate and place on a cookie sheet.

What to Wear on a Road Trip

So many of us travel during the summer, and road trips are an easy way to go some place new without spending too much money or time. We love just taking a weekend off and driving up the coast, to the mountains, or even the desert (when it’s not too hot!).

When you go on a road trip, you’ll probably stop off at different places to eat & explore, so you want to look cute, but still feel comfy while sitting in the car for hours. Sometimes it can be hard to put together a comfy outfit that doesn’t include yoga pants & a sports bra, so we thought we would show you a few ideas of what you can wear!

#1: Flared Pants & Graphic Tee

Swap out those yoga leggings for some fun printed flared pants! These tie dye ones are so cute and feel just like pajamas or yoga pants.Throw on a graphic tee to complete the look!

#2: Maxi Skirt & Cute Tank

Just like the flared pants, these maxi skirts are so comfy and we are always getting new ones in different prints & colors. Just throw on a cute tank and you’re good to go!

#3: Flowy Dress & Lace Bralette

This is perhaps our favorite outfit out of the three because it’s so easy! You can basically wear any flowy dress and feel comfy & cool while sitting in the car for hours. Plus, you’ll look exceptionally cute and photo-ready when you get out of the car to explore!

What’s in Our Bag?

*IMG_5674.jpgToday’s post is all about the essentials! There are certain must-haves every girl carries throughout her day to day life, and these are our list of favorites!

Shopping Canvas Tote – First off, the bag! We love our pink canvas tote which reads, “I have been shopping my entire life and I still have nothing to wear”. A struggle almost every girl understands! It’s the perfect size tote to carry around our essentials.

Peach Blossom iPhone Case – Something we cannot live without is our phone. Rifle Paper Co. has a super girly case available in two floral patterns. The clear case shows off the color of your iPhone 6/6s or 6 plus. It also has a bumper in the front which is helpful in case you ever drop your phone.

Tassel Keychain – Another must is our keys! To add some flare to our common house and car keys, we’ve added a fun tassel keychain. It’s available in a few colors-so pick one that shows off your individual style! But of course, we went with the pink!

Cosmetic Bag – Our cosmetic bag is important to carry all our fave lipsticks and mascaras. Especially on a hot summer day, touch-ups are vital. Carry it in your bag or on its own (because it’s that cute!).

Round Sunglasses – Sunglasses are also very important  on a sunny day. Not only do they protect your eyes, but they’re stylish and match with everything!

Bando Agenda Planner – For keeping up with our crazy schedules, from coffee dates to hair appointments, we like to carry our Bando agenda. This 17-month agenda book comes with stickers to mark important dates and fun artwork for each individual month.

Let’s Do This! Notepad – Sometimes, there are things we need to quickly jot down, like a phone number or an Instagram handle! For those times when we need to leave a little note, we carry our Rifle Paper Co. notepad. The checklist is adorned with a cute floral pattern that says, “Let’s Do This!”

Bando Water Bottle – It’s important to stay hydrated. To thirst our quench, we keep our beverage of choice in the Bando water bottle. It reads, “After this, we’re getting pizza”. Our favorite food-Yum!!

And that’s it! Our Daisy Shoppe must-haves all contained in the cutest little tote. What’s in your bag?
